WHAT IS THE PRAYER OF SALVATION?
The prayer of salvation is known to many as the Sinner’s Prayer, it’s not “the Our Father Prayer” but rather a model prayer to follow when asking Jesus Christ to become Lord and Savior in your life. It is a prayer of repentance, prayed by individuals who felt convicted by the presence of sin in their lives, and have the desire to form or renew a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Salvation means to be redeemed or delivered from sin and its punishment of death and set free to know, love, and serve God our heavenly Father. Salvation is by grace through faith based upon the saving work of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross and God's resurrected power. Salvation is a free gift from God our heavenly Father. There is nothing you can do that God won't forgive. If you are ready to receive this free gift, pray this prayer:
Prayer of Salvation
Dear God,
I know that I have done wrong and I don’t feel worthy of your love, but I know that I can’t be justified before You by my good deeds because You are the only perfect "ONE". I believe that You came to Earth as Jesus Christ the Messiah. I believe Jesus Christ took upon Himself all my sins bearing it in His own body the punishment of You for our sin and was crucified and died on a cross at Calvary. I believe Jesus Christ was buried and on the third day You, God, physically raised Him from the dead. I believe Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven and sits now at Your right hand where He reigns as my Advocate.
I believe that You, God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and Holy Spirit are one God. I ask You, God to come into my heart as Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily in every area of my life. I ask You, Holy Spirit to live within me and teach me the way I should go. Father, in your Son Jesus Christ name, I surrender my will in return for your will. I believe and confess I am born again in the Spirit and will now have eternal life with You. Amen!
*****It is important to remember that salvation is not received by reciting a prayer or uttering certain words, salvation is faith in Jesus Christ and that alone with a repentance heart.
