These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your sons (Deuteronomy 6:6,7

The words of Deuteronomy 6:6-7 emphasize the importance of instilling God's teachings in the hearts of our children and diligently teaching them to our sons and daughters. However, Christian children and teenagers are often targeted by Satan's schemes, seeking to draw them away from their families and faith communities.

While not every negative thought in our minds is directly from Satan or demons, the influence of worldly input and the flesh also play a role in introducing sinful ideas. As we mature in our faith, we learn to discern and reject these influences, choosing instead to walk in the Spirit.

Yet, we must also recognize the subtle workings of the devil and spiritual forces of wickedness. They craftily introduce evil suggestions as inner voices or thoughts, seeking to lead us astray. It is vital to teach our children to distinguish and resist these influences, guiding them to bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

Unfortunately, many children may not speak up about Satan's influence in their lives because they are unaware of his role. Satan operates deceptively, subtly infiltrating their thoughts and actions through the opportunities they and we give him. Without understanding the Bible's teachings on Satan's strategies, children may internalize guilt and fear, contributing to their silence.

In essence, it is crucial for parents and guardians to educate their children about the reality of spiritual warfare and equip them with the knowledge and tools to combat Satan's tactics. By grounding them in Scripture and teaching them to discern God's voice from the enemy's, we empower our children to stand firm in their faith and resist the schemes of the evil one.
